Quinta de Cima Golf Course

Description

The 18 holes of the Quinta de Cima course are designed to provide a challenging round for most middle and lower handicappers. An important feature of the open fairways is that as they are not lined with residential villas and this provides a closer affinity with the typical Algarve countryside. Straight drives are required to avoid the many strategic bunkers - especially if there is blowing an occasional strong wind. Some challenging left and right doglegs combined with inviting water hazards on the final three holes brings the player back to the Club House with hopefully a possible decent scorecard.

Coming from the United States, Portuguese golf was a little disappointing. This course was an easy walking course thus we got good exercise but none of the holes were that inspiring. We go there and no one was really prepared for us. We had to keep walking back and forth from the club house to the caddy house to pay for different items such as cart and water. There was no real starter thus we teed off on the wrong course and were moved to the right course after we teed off. We were then interrupted again by a ranger to see our receipts etc. It was most annoying.

Played twilight and when we started waiting at tees, we also began to worry about the darkness, but It worked out well. Good, but no course you will remember
