Description

Designed for the enjoyment of the average handicap golfer the Gramacho Golf Course is one of the more popular courses in the Algarve. Noted for its well maintained playing conditions, the undulating fairways meander their way around the typical local countryside presenting players with several interesting doglegs with their greens to be discovered. The seventeenth hole is an example with its 90 degree left dogleg - a temptation for a strong hitter to carry the lake, or an easy escape route limiting the chance of a birdie! Many strategical located bunkers also to test playing skills of the player.

Good track and great value, could be better...

Good course and played really well - some really challenging holes and a few great par threes with elevated tees. For 50 euros great value. Clubhouse was getting refurbished, which was why the service was slow. Practice green chipping area wasn't great, greens a wee bit inconsistent too, maybe because the course is heavily used - very slow today. Also hoping to have a warm up on the range but was told it was 5 mins away by car, not great having just been dropped off by taxi ?!

Overall a really nice course that demands you to think your way round, avoiding some strategically placed hazards and bunkers. Greens, tees and fairways are well watered and in good condition. Only problem was putting out walking golfers ahead of buggies which meant we and several other groups had to wait on almost all tees from the 5th onwards and resulted in a 4 hour round. However, well recommended and good value.
